FIRST IMPRESSIONS
WOW! Setting up the bluetooth bracelet is easy. After a quick 3 minute charge we were able to take it through the testing gauntlet. Pairing the device is easy and the bluetooth name when searching for it is simply 'BRACELET'. This might sound obvious, but there were so many bluetooth devices available to pair with, when we set up the bracelet, it made all the difference!
There are about 6 size adjustments you can make, out of the box the bracelet is set to fit the wrist of a bear, so after adjusting it two levels smaller, if fit my wrist quite comfortably.
The vibration you receive when it is activated and when an incoming call comes in, it is quite pleasant. It is soft enough not to scare you upon receiving a call but also leaves you with no doubt that a call is being received.
It pulses every few seconds as to not be annoying.
The LED is cool, but I wouldn't call it much of a feature per-se. The LED is red when pairing and low on battery, blue when connected to a device and green when it is not paired. The LED gives a bit of an ambience between calls, but it is nothing that interesting.
IN THE FIELD
I equipped my girlfriend with a bracelet over the weekend to see if it is practical. For me, I dont see why I would ever use one, but to my girlfriend it was a completely different story!
First stop was dinner, she kept her phone on silent and bracelet on wrist. Sure enough, at the designated time I called her and she excused herself from the dinner table to rendezvous with her telephone in the bathroom. THE PERFECT SCAM! Nobody had any idea she was exusing herself to answer a phone call. This is perfect for school, tafe or work. Just take your handbag to the bathroom with you and nobody is any the wiser :)
People even commented on the bracelet and had a look at it for themselves, nobody realised they were holding onto her bluetooth phonecall alert device. One even asked where she bought herself one! So I guess it IS a fashion accessory.
Next stop was the nightclub. Well, for us blokes, we keep our phone on us at all times, so we always know when we are getting a phone call. The missus keeps hers in her bag, near the dj booth, a chair a table. So you can be busy dancing without worrying about missing important phone calls and be alerted discreetly when it is time to check your handbag.
All in all, this is the perfect companion without having rude, obnoxious ringtones, loud vibration phones and not looking conceited by checking your phone every 2 minutes.
