The USB Xtractor from Team Maximus is an all-in-one XBOX 360 drive flashing tool kit. It is compatible with Lite-On, Samsung, Hitachi and BenQ drives. The product is a redesign of the original XTRACTOR and XTRACTOR Pro. The product includes a USB pen for reading the key from first model Lite-On drives. The pen includes all the circuitry to create a USB port on the PC to dump the data, the pen is connected to the PC with a mini-usb cable (cable included)
The second part of the USB Xtractor is the drive power unit. It includes an ON/OFF switch, EJECT and MODE B enable. It is connected to the PC with a molex connector. Another improvement in design on this seperate unit, is that it plugs directly into the drive without the need for cables that get lost, damaged and often plugged wrong-way up. When they did get plugged in wrong-way up they tended to blow up and rended themselves useless. The next major update for this device is in-line resettable fuses. Back in the original XTRACTOR and XTRACTOR PRO, if you powered on your PC with the drive powered on, it would often blow up the drive due to the power spike when the PC is booting. Now this is not an issue anymore!

There is a new Lite-On v2 drive in the market that first got made March 09, the USB Xtrator is not needed for these latest v2 drives and if used on these drives your spear could be damaged. The model number for the Lite-On v2 is the same DG-16D2S, but the HW Ver is A0A2 & Firmware version is 83850C. Make sure to check the HW & Firmware version on the drive before using the USB Xtractor on it. |
