The brand new development, Wasabi-2 is the latest in the line of developments of the Wasabi team for Wii. From the people that brought you the FIRST 9-wire mod-chip for D2C drives, they now bring you an updated chip compatible with every single Wii Drive!
DMS, D2B, D2C, D2C2 - there is no drive that is not compatible with the WASABI! They now even work on Korean Nintendo Wii drives.
The first generation of Wasabi mod-chips had problems due to the electrical design of the chip, causing drives to click and required the shorting of an on-board component.
Wasabi could be translated into english as INNOVATION. They were the first team to allow upgrades by DVD for D2C drives, the first team to provide a 9 wire installation for D2C and D2C2 drives, the first team to have a TRULY universal backwards (legacy) compatible mod-chip.
