The D2SUN-2 is the first Universal upgradable modchip for the Nintendo Wii with DIP Switch selection between Wii Models. D2SUN2 features selectable regions for PAL (UK, Australia, Europe), USA (North America), JAP (Japan & Hong Kong) and KOR (Korea). Installation can be made in ALL D2B, D2A, D2C, D2C2 and DMS wii drives. You need to solder 5 wires for Generation 1 and Generation 2 Wii's and 9 wires for D2C and D2C2 drives.
Quantronics have decided to choose D2SUN over many other low-cost modchips for a number of reasons. We believe the D2SUN2 is an innovative modchip and makes installers life much easier with the implementation of DIP switches and two methods of code changes. For example, Wasabi has already been through two hardware revisions and are looking to be onto their third. When this happens, you old stock ends up being worthless and impossible to sell - D2SUN2 has alleviated these concerns by including a JTAG interface for upgrades. This means you can completely update your chip using an USB JTAG programmer (just like ARGON and ARGON2).
D2SUN-2 hardware features:

SPI interface: for code updates by CD/DVD - convenient patching
JTAG interface: allows full code updates to the Proasic Controller
Oscillator: prevents clocking problems for D2C and D2C2 boards - makes code much more stable
DIP Switches: increase the speed of installation by selecting DIP switches for mode selection as opposed to bridging and grounding points
