The D2SUN 1.3A3 is the first 5 - 6 wire mod chip released by the D2SUN team. The D2SUN 1.3 A3 is among the lowest priced universal mod chips on the market and has the stability and bullet-proof performance of no other.
There have been some cut-backs on design to allow for the breakthrough sub $50 pricetag, such as the removal of region and drive setting DIP Switches, but this is the only significant change.
Since the D2SUN 1.3A is aimed primarily toward the installer market, installation of the chip has been simplified to cut down installation time significantly. There is also no problem installing the D2SUN 1.3A on EPOXY covered drive boards as there is no requirement for this modchip to be installed on the legs of the drive controller - there are also alternate installation points which can avoid EPOXY all together!
The D2SUN has always been the most stable and fast chip on the market as it does not need to detect the region or drive type of the console. You actually set these parameters on the mod chip before installation. If you have a PAL console, you solder / bridge the PAL chip setting, if you have a D2E drive board, you bridge the D2E setting on the chip. This greatly reduces drive lock-up problems and improves multi-region play significantly. No other chip on the market is as stable, quick booting or easier to install than the D2SUN.
As this chip is a UNIVERSAL mod, it works on every drive and every region Wii console currently on the market (as of December 2008). This includes PAL, NTSC and KOREAN regions and DMS, D2A, D2B, D2C, D2C2, D2E and D2E Epoxy boards. It is also the ONLY UNIVERSAL modchip that works on ALL CURRENT Wii consoles with the use of Solderless Wii-Clips.
There is only one extra wire for D2C and above drives, unlike 3 - 9 extra wires for other Wii modchips. |
