The Modbo 4.0 is the latest Matrix Infinity Clone from the MODBO Team in China. The installation is quite simple and these latest MODBO Modchips have a very good build quality and extremely low fault rate.
The most important aspect of the Modbo 4.0 is the compatibility with 79002, 79001, 7900x series PSTWO's. Currently, there are not too many chips available for these series of PS2 consoles.
While this mod chip is cheap, it is very well built and feature packed. While earlier version of the Modbo would break when trying to attempt a firmware flash, these actually cope very well. There is no need to worry about 'bricking' your modbo 4.0 as it will flash without any problems.
Forget about the Modbo 745, 3.0, 2.1 as well as Matrix Infinity SE. Currently flashed with Matrix Infinity firmware version 1.91 and of course upgradable.
Booting all kinds of media including imports, DVD-9, Originals, CD, CD-R, DVD-R, DVD+R (Not recommended) and all dual layer media.
Another great feature of the Modbo 4.0 is the CX or Clock wire which is left off many chips of late. Lately, most chips include a 50Mhz Resonator to handle all clocking functions to 'save a wire' from the installation, however, this causes clocking issues and a lower boot rate. Using the PS2 and PSTWO's internal clock ensures your media will boot first time, every time.
Direct boot of all Media including multi-region DVD, Dev1, Dev2 and Macrovision disable.
The Modbo 4.0 also ships with a free PSTWO Laser fix diode array to help aide in protecting your laser and RS2004FS controller from burning out.
Please note: you may have to plug in a controller for this chip to work - important to remember when testing your installation
