Mobile
phone Amp/Static stickers are new to the world market having been release in
approximately June 2001.
These
devices first appeared on US television as 'infomercials' selling the product
at US $19.99.
Information
gathered from the 'booster' manufacturers suggests that product was moving at
500 000 pieces per two week cycle.
Australia
has now seen this product in late/early 2001/2002. Having the second highest
per capita concentration of mobile phones, it is expected to be the 'next big
thing' since changeable covers and flashing antenna's.
How
it works:
These
stickers work passively inside the mobile phone, and are best to be stuck on
a clean area under the battery close to the mobile internal antenna.
The
device captures stray radiation inside the body of the mobile phone and radiates
the signal toward the internal antenna showing an increased performance and
helps to reduce call drop-outs whilst actively reducing 'static' associated
with mobile equipment.
If
poor performance of a phone's reception is still a problem with the use of this
product, it is recommended that the phone is inspected by a licensed mobile
phone repair center.
It
should be noted that in some instances, GSM 'blackholes' do exist and cannot be fixed by the booster.
While
this product will work to increase signal strength, some areas have no network,
and it is not possible to 'hold on' to a signal.

Installation
Instructions: (as displayed on reverse of
retail packaging)
1) Turn off your phone.
2) Remove the phone's battery.
3) Before removing the adhesive backing from the antenna booster, decide
where you are going to place the antenna. Be sure not to cover the battery
or phone copper contacts and make sure that the "Side Up" portion of
the antenna is pointing towards the antenna on your phone.
4) Remove backing from the self-adhesive backing and attach it to the
phone or battery. Be sure and not cover any of the copper contacts.
Note: the antenna booster goes between the battery and the phone.
5) Replace battery and turn your phone on. Enjoy the enhanced signal
on your phone!!
